What we do · 02
Your software says one thing, your bookkeeper says another, and you trust neither. This is the work that fixes that, and it is almost always the first thing worth doing.
The work
One source of truth
Field service software and the general ledger reconciled, with a written definition of every number so two people asking the same question get the same answer.
Job costing that reflects reality
Labour, materials, truck time, and warranty work landing against the right job. Without this, margin by job type is a guess and pricing decisions are folklore.
A monthly close you can rely on
Last month’s numbers by the fourth, not the twentieth. Late numbers are not a bookkeeping annoyance; they mean every decision you made in the meantime was made blind.
Reporting people actually read
A short standing report for you, a different one for your GM, and a dashboard only if somebody has agreed to look at it.
Access and permissions
Who can change what, and a record of it. Also the unglamorous part of diligence: proving your data has not been quietly edited for a year.
A data room that already exists
Assembled as a by-product of doing the above properly, rather than as a panic project after an LOI lands.
We work in the systems you already run rather than selling you a migration. If a change of platform is genuinely the right answer, we will tell you, and we will also tell you what it will cost you in disruption before you commit.
The instrument panel
Not a forty-metric dashboard. The set below is what most multi-truck shops need to run the business and what a buyer will ask for anyway. Defining them precisely is most of the work; producing them is the easy part once the data is clean.
In diligence
A buyer will pull your field service data and reconcile it against your financials. If the two do not match, every number you have given them becomes negotiable, and the adjustment goes one direction. Add-backs you cannot document get struck. Revenue you cannot break down by type and channel gets treated as less sticky than it is.
The owners who hold their price in diligence are the ones who did this work years earlier, for their own benefit, and simply handed over what they were already using.
Tell us the shop: trades, trucks, markets, and whether you are scaling, selling, or undecided. If we are not the right fit, you will hear it on the first call.
